About the Utah Juneteenth Freedom Festival
The Utah Juneteenth Freedom Festival is one of the longest-running Juneteenth celebrations in the state, bringing together families, community organizations, artists, performers, businesses, and leaders from across Utah to honor the history, culture, and ongoing legacy of Juneteenth.
Hosted by Project Success Coalition, the festival commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned of their freedom more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
Today, Juneteenth is celebrated as a time to reflect on freedom, resilience, culture, community, and progress. The Utah Juneteenth Freedom Festival continues that tradition through live entertainment, educational programming, youth activities, local vendors, food, arts, community engagement, and cultural celebration.
The 37th Annual Utah Juneteenth Freedom Festival will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Ogden City Amphitheater. Whether you are attending for the first time or returning with family and friends, we invite you to join us as we celebrate history, honor legacy, and build community together.
